AudioManage: Features |
Managing CDs
MP3 Compilations
AudioManage has been designed after taking inputs from many music fans, on how they organize
their music. As a result, AudioManage has something for everyone. One very special feature,
that's been built keeping in mind how people today burn their music (MP3/WMA/etc.)
collections on CDs instead of keeping a lot of them on their computers. AudioManage detects
such CDs, and automatically handles them in a different manner: since you put some
tracks on a CD, for you, it's an album. However, each track itself might be from a separate
album, artist, etc. So, You can not only access each track by it's parent category (such as
album, or artist) along with other files in the same category, but also view tracks in
this compilation together by using the compilations view.
Disc Tracking & History
In fact, CDs (both AudioCDs and CDROMs) are given another special feature of their own. The
thing with discs is that people want to borrow them. You may have given some discs to some
friends of yours, or may have borrowed some from them. With lots of CDs, it becomes difficult
to keep a track of these CDs. Not only that, but if you want to listen to a particular track
on a CD, you might keep looking for it, only to realize that you had given it to a friend
weeks ago! AudioManage to the rescue: You can attach posession details to each disc you have
in the library (these could be discs you have borrowed, or discs you have lent). You can also
specify the date on which this was borrowed/lent, and to whom. In fact, you can even see a
history of all the discs borrowed by a particular person, and send him an IM (using MSN
Messenger or Yahoo Messenger) right from AudioManage when the discs don't come back!
Tip: AudioManage shows a small 'CD' icon next to every album or track that you have on CDs, so you can quickly identify it as such. See a Flash movie of CD covers being added.See a Flash movie of an AudioCD being added to the library. |
