AudioManage works with you...
With AudioManage, the actual physical tracks are never moved... so each of the tracks in a
'virtual' folder can physically be in different places, drives, computers, or devices. Some
of them may be on your computer, on your iPod, or even an Audio CD, but AudioManage shows it
to you all in one place, as 'virtual' tracks. When you try to open these 'virtual' tracks, AudioManage quickly figures out where the real file is, and passes on that filename to your favorite media player. If the file is not available, AudioManage prompts you for the correct device or media the file is on, and then launches your player. You will never recieve a 'File not found' kind of message again! Since it integrates tightly with Windows (see FAQs about OS support), there's no software to run. Yes, you read that right: you never need to 'run' any program to use the library. Just go into 'My Computer', and you will see the 'Audio Library' icon along with the drives and other icons. AudioManage seamlessly integrates with Windows, and you never actually leave Windows Explorer, even when you are browsing the audio library.  AudioManage is an audio library software: it organizes and tags music, and is pretty good at it. However, just like Windows Explorer is a file browser, with each file opening in it's own program, AudioManage has no player built into it. The way we see it, there is no point in reinventing the wheel, as there are excellent players like Windows Media Player, Winamp, foobar2000 etc., already available. Plus, we don't want you to dump your favorite player because your audio library doesn't support it!!! AudioManage is built not only to integrate with Windows from the outside, but also with programs from the inside. It's the only audio library application which actually makes available it's organized virtual collection inside all other Windows programs (which use standard windows dialogs - we haven't seen any that don't!). So, you can not only browse your collection within Windows Explorer, and launch a track in your configured player, but also open your favorite player (like Windows Media Player, Winamp, etc.), go to File->Open, and browse the files in the library directly from there itself!  AudioManage appears as a folder to most applications... this allows them to open and save files directly from/into the library. There is no need to monitor folders for changes, wasting computing resources. When you save a file into the library, AudioManage automatically saves it in a user-specified folder. If you want, it can also move the new track into an organized directory structure, so you don't end up with a 'My Music' folder with hundreds of tracks strewn around: AudioManage will automatically create album and artist folders for you and place the new track there. Of cousrse, all new tracks become immediately available in the library. |
